Acorn Trust is a charitable organisation run by a dedicated team of employees and volunteers, working with the people and businesses in Derwentside to make and manage a better environment in which to live, work and play.

Based at the Old Fire Station at Delves Lane, Consett, we aim to:

Empower local people to take local action to improve and sustain their local environment.
Give local people access to the tools and knowledge to understand and enjoy their local environment.
Green Derwentside by planting and managing trees and facilitating community environmental improvement schemes.
Make Derwentside a more environmentally and economically attractive district to locals, visitors and potential investors.
Act as a fundraising body to channel as much money as possible into the above aims
Promote and manage, in a correct and legal manner, the Acorn Trust charity.
